Interim Principles for Responsible Investment in Natural Capital Published
On 31st March 2022 the Scottish Government published their ambitions and expectations for a values-led, high-integrity market for responsible private investment in natural capital, for communities, investors, land owners, public bodies and other market stakeholders.
The principles were designed to protect Scotland’s international reputation for its natural capital by recognising our natural assets are an attractive proposition for private investment. The commitment aimed to ensure nature markets are values-led, with asset management that is measurable and verifiable, helping to deliver policy goals for economic transformation, climate change and biodiversity, and providing community benefits to support a Just Transition.
