The Scottish Forum on Natural Capital is looking for a passionate young leader (under 30) to join its Leadership Group and help shape Scotland’s approach to valuing and protecting nature.

We want to make sure our Leadership Group includes a range of experiences and viewpoints, and we especially welcome applications from young people who may not see themselves represented in typical leadership spaces.

About the role

As a Leadership Member, you’ll contribute to strategic decisions, represent the Forum at high-level discussions, and help guide Scotland’s natural capital initiatives. This is a chance to influence policy, drive innovation, and ensure young voices are heard in environmental leadership.

Who we’re looking for

  • Someone under 30 with a passion for nature, sustainability, or climate action.

  • Strong communication skills and a proactive attitude.

  • Experience in youth groups, volunteering, or advocacy (a plus but not essential).

  • Interest in Scottish policy, natural capital, biodiversity, or sustainable development.

Commitment and details

  • 2 meetings per year (remote/hybrid, with optional in-person sessions in Edinburgh).

  • The position of Leadership Group Member is without remuneration, although reasonable out of pocket expenses for travelling to meetings may be claimed.
  • Apply by 31 August 2025 with a CV and cover letter to: smatchett@scottishwildlifetrust.org.uk
